The Holy Spirit gives Christians freedom, says Kari Jobe

Kari Jobe explains the story behind her song"Holy Spirit."

Kari Jobe's new song "Holy Spirit" from the album Majestic is all about inviting the Holy Spirit into all of one's life, not only during moments of worship.

The singer shared on her Facebook page what the song meant to her, and explained how the lyrics of "Holy Spirit" can help Christians invite God to come and take over their lives.

"The presence of the Holy Spirit removes all fear, shame, and slavery. Consider this truth, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM. Freedom from sin, freedom from burdens, freedom from shame, and freedom from chains!" she wrote.

Jobe added that the Holy Spirit is "our comforter, our counselor, the one who convicts, the one who encourages, the third, and for us here on earth, the most tangible member of the trinity."

She finds it curious that people don't constantly desire more of God in their daily lives, since the Holy Spirit is not a force or a feeling, but rather a person who seeks to be an active part of people's lives.

"I believe something shifts in our lives when we welcome the Holy Spirit into every situation. We shouldn't just welcome the Spirit into our church gatherings, but instead we should welcome the Spirit into our thoughts, conversations, workplaces, our lives at home, our marriages, and relationships as well," she said.

Jobe hopes that her song will encourage listeners to invite the Holy Spirit into their lives right now. No matter the hour, no matter the place, Jobe believes that God's presence is always a positive one.

"Invite him to flood the atmosphere of your heart, your home, your car, your dorm room, wherever that may be, and watch as things shift!" she urged.
