Johnny Galecki news: 'The Big Bang Theory' star returns in the classic series 'Roseanne'

"The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki will be reprising his role as David Healy in the much-anticipated reboot of the classic American sitcom "Roseanne." "Big Bang" fans need not worry, though, as Galecki will not be leaving the genius pack. The actor made sure of that through a social media post.

Galecki announced his involvement in the reboot through Instagram. Galecki posted a photo with the caption, "21 years later...! Apart from being born, possibly the most surreal experience of my life. Deep thanks to my Big Bang Theory family for knowing the importance of visiting one's roots and loaning me out for a quick minute. Much love."

Galecki's character in "Roseanne," David Healy, is the longtime boyfriend of Darlene Conner portrayed by television star Sara Gilbert. Galecki and Gilbert happened to work together in both "Roseanne" and "The Big Bang Theory." Gilbert plays the genius Leslie Winkle, who had a short relationship with Galecki's character, Leonard Hofstadter.

Along with Galecki and Gilbert, most of the original cast of "Roseanne" are also coming back such as Roseanne Barr, Laurie Metcalf, John Goodman, Michael Fishman, and more.

The ABC television series "Roseanne" aired from 1988 until 1977. The series had released nine seasons with 222 episodes. Season 10 will premiere in 2018, and the title of the first episode is "Twenty Years to Life."

There are not much details provided about the storyline of the series, but Goodman's character Dan Conner will be alive when the series returns to the television. In the finale episode of the series on May 20, 1997, Goodman's character died due to heart attack.

Season 10 of the series will have nine episodes and will premiere in spring 2018. Galecki will have his hands full with "Roseanne" and production for "The Big Bang Theory's" season 12. The CBS sitcom is still in the middle of its 11th season.
