"The Defenders" miniseries finally showed a glimpse of the fighting prowess of the toughest private detective in Hell's Kitchen, Jessica Jones, portrayed by Krysten Ritter. However, she was not able to tap into her super strength in one instance, as the actress shared that while filming the second season of "Jessica Jones," she passed out after taking an accidental uppercut to the jaw.

The actress shared the experience during an interview with Women's Health magazine. She said that the incident happened in July. After the accidental uppercut, she nearly bit through her tongue, and passed out when she saw blood.

It turns out that behind her super tough and independent detective alter-ego, Ritter is afraid of blood. "I saw the blood everywhere, and I panicked," said the actress.

Ritter did not let the experience hinder her from continuing to be the same strong and fearless heroine in the action series. Not only did she recover from the incident, but she now smiles at how the show's crew teases her about it. She shared that her crew jokingly reenacts, complete with eyelids fluttering, how her body sagged as she fainted right after seeing blood.

The actress shot "Jessica Jones" season 2 back-to-back with "The Defenders," which is a big ask for an actress. Ritter previously shared with Vulture that she is approaching the filming of her solo series more like an athlete, because of the physical demand of filming one series after another.

"I think I've approached this season differently," shared Ritter. "Because I've done "The Defenders," went home, took a shower, came back, and started "Jessica Jones" season two."

However, she noted that having done the first season already, she already knew how hard it was going to be. To maintain balance with her tough workload, Ritter is making sure she is doing things for herself, like reading books and knitting.

"Jessica Jones" season 2 is expected to be released next year.
