Tuesday night's episode of '19 Kids and Counting' saw Derick Dillard proposing to Jill Duggar after six months of 'courtship.'
While Jill was away promoting her book with her sisters, Derick asked Jim Bob Duggar for his blessing and Jill's hand in marriage.
"I just wanted to talk to you about Jill and just the last six months of getting to know Jill," Derick said to Jim Bob. "I've really enjoyed that time and wanted to ask you for her hand in marriage and your blessing on that."
Jim Bob and Michelle have seen their relationship blossom since Jill embarked on her courtship with Derick, and were happy to give the blessing.
"Michelle and I have been talking about this for awhile and really both love you and Jill loves you and we just really believe that you are the one that Jill's supposed to marry," Jim Bob told Derick.
He continued, "I think you will make a great husband and father for the future family Derick."
Prior to Derick's actual proposal, he had called up Walker, a singer/songwriter, to write an original song about their courtship. He also chose an engagement ring and practiced his proposal.
Derick took Jill on a date, along with chaperones Jana and Joy Anna, to the local town square where Walker performed the song about their courtship.
After the song was over, Derick proposed to Jill, saying: "Jill, I love our love story. I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone but you, I couldn't imagine spending my life without you.... would you.. it would be an honor to serve God with you for the rest of my life. Jill Duggar will you marry me?"
And how did Jill reply? "Yes totally!"
Afterwards, the newly engaged couple contacted both of their parents to share the good news.
Tuesday's episode also showed Michelle taking her daughters Jill and Jessa to a bridal salon, prior to the engagement. Although Jessa didn't try on a dress, Jill gave it a go. Not to mention, Jill will be wearing a wedding gown very soon when she ties the knot with Derick on June 21.
While Jill and Derick have announced an engagement, there is official announcement of Jessa's engagement.
Jessa is currently in a courtship with Ben Seewald and news of an engagement is immiment as she recently launched social media accounts with the name 'Jessa Seewald'.
