One of the world's most expensive brands of champagne and is believed to be owned by music moguls Jay-Z and Beyonce was sold in Manila, Philippines on New Year's eve. The single bottle was sold for Php7 million or over $140,000.

The Armand de Brignac Midas or Ace of Spades was sold to an unknown customer by the indoor beach club and nightclub Cove Manila. The nightclub posted a video of its NYE celebration party with the champagne bottle being paraded around on Instagram. Cove Manila captioned the post with, "We just sold the firs 7 million peso Armand de Brignac Midas in the Philippines. Another night in history was made when the prestigious 30-liter bottle was purchased right we were counting down to 2018. The only one of its kind in the country sold first at Cove Manila." The name of the buyer was never revealed to the public or anyone.

The Cove Manila just recently opened on Dec. 15, 2017 in the casino resort and hotel complex Okada Manila. According to Philippines' publication company PhilStar, the individual who bought the champagne was staying at one of the most expensive villas or cabanas of the hotel.

According to a Forbes report back in 2014, Jay-Z owns a piece of Armand de Brignac brand and had been interested in the champagne since 2006. It was also indicated in the report that Jay-Z shares the brand ownership with Champagne Cattier and another company called Sovereign Brands.

There are other reports in the same year indicating that Armand de Brignac Midas was Jay-Z's favorite brand so he decided to buy it and run it.
