While the unique crime series "iZombie" has not announced a specific date for its season 4 return, television network CW has confirmed that a fourth season will be coming, and it would pick up three months from the events of the third season finale.

The upcoming season will show Seattle walled off from the rest of the world. When the existence of the zombies was made known to the public, many people fled the city. Those who remained are now trying to make a peaceful place for humans and zombies to co-exist.

There are also people who, instead of wanting to flee the city, are trying to enter it. Some people who are sick believe that the cure can be found in Seattle, but since the city has been walled off, entering it is not that easy.

This walled city situation would no doubt bring an interesting backdrop for the show's protagonist Liv Moore (Rose McIver) and her adventures.

Aside from McIver, many of the cast members are returning for the fourth season, including Malcolm Goodwin, Aly Michalka Rahul Kohli, David Anders, and Robert Buckley.

Getting a fourth season is a great gift for fans of the show, especially since the show experienced a slight dip in ratings during its third season. Nonetheless, the series remains to be one of the most entertaining shows on television.

The series follows the adventures of Moore, a zombie who works as a morgue attendant to gain a consistent access to human brains, which she feeds on. She is able to assume the personality of the people whose brain she eats, and uses this to help solve their murders.

The limited, 13-episode format has proven helpful for the narrative of the show in the first and third season, and is most likely the format that the upcoming fourth season will follow.

Season 4 of "iZombie" is set to be released early 2018.
