Campo Santo Productions, the video game developer behind "Firewatch," has announced its upcoming video game "In the Valley of Gods." The announcement of the upcoming adventure game happened during the recent Game Awards event.

The game's setting is the vast Egyptian desert during the 1920s. Gamers will control the character Rashida in her adventure to uncover treasures and discover the deepest depths of Egypt. Rashida, a former explorer and a disgraced filmmaker, is the main protagonist in the game. Rashida embarks on the adventure with her former partner Zora, and together they explore the Valley of Gods.

According to the game's description by Campo Santo, Rashida and Zora had a falling-out and decided to part ways, but, "Somewhere, beyond the endless miles of dunes, ruins, and toms lies an incredible archaeological discovery, but it can't be found without the help of Zora, the former partner you vowed never to work with again."

The game is still in the midst of production for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Campo Santo indicated that the game might be made available on other platforms. The video game is expected to be released in 2019 but may still change according to a statement from the developer in a blog post.

A part of the blog reads, "In the Valley of Gods is an adventure unlike anything we've ever made and we can't wait for you to play it."

The announcement trailer shows a little bit of the game's gameplay and its beautiful setting. The video also shows Rashida and Zora entering pyramids, tombs, and other areas.

There are no further information revealed by Campo Santo when it comes to its storyline other than the synopsis and the relationship of the main characters.

The mystery adventure video game "Firewatch" received high score ratings from video game critics. IGN gave the game 9.3 out of 10, and received 9 out of 10 from Steam.
