Huawei Mate 7 Mini or Plus release date, specs: Could be unveiled at IFA 2015

Chinese company Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has been very busy lately releasing its Honor 7 smartphone in the market, followed by the upcoming announcement of the Honor 7i variant this Aug. 20, according to recent reports.

In addition, the Chinese company also plans to launch its first smartwatch ever in international markets, including the United States.

Recently, according to a report by Phone Arena, a new teaser was posted by President Zhu Ping of Huawei's consumer business via Chinese social media site Weibo. The teaser showed the words "Unique S," when translated in English, along with the IFA logo and the date Sept. 2.

The report adds that the Huawei Mate 7 Mini or Plus handset might , in fact, be the Huawei Mate 7S, which is expected to be unveiled this Sept. 2.

Earlier, known tech industry tipster Evan Blass or evleaks had revealed that a new Huawei smartphone with Force Touch capability was expected to be announced during the IFA 2015 event in Germany. However, Blass later tweeted to say that this phone would no longer come with the feature.

Also, another Huawei phone with the model, CRR-UL00, had just made its way through TENAA's certification in China. Phone Arena reported yesterday that this phone could be the anticipated Huawei Mate 7 Mini/Plus.

In terms of the specifications, the Mate 7 is rumored to sport a small 4.7-inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It will have a sharp 13-megapixel camera on the back and will run on the new Android 5.1.1 version Lollipop operating system (OS).

Inside, there will be Huawei's own Kirin SoC processor with an octa-core central processing  unit and a Mali-T624 graphics processing unit and a 3GB RAM. In addition, the Mate 7 Mini/Plus will reportedly sport a metal construction.

Huawei's Mate 8 device was actually supposed to be unveiled during the IFA 2015 in Berlin; but now, it has been confirmed that the Mate 8 will probably see the light of day sometime next year.
