Hans Segers: "God is Looking After Me"

|PIC1|Former Nottingham Forest and PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Hans Segers played with some of Holland’s top world cup stars in the 1980’s:

My hero was Johan Cruyff. I’ve played a few times against Johan Cruyff , especially when he was at Feyenord, I’ve played with Rene and Willy van de Kerkhof, Arie Haan and Marco Van Basten. They were exceptionally good players.

Off the pitch Seger’s marriage was in tatters, until he and his wife Astrid became followers of Jesus Christ. His new faith totally changed his life.

I find now anything what’s happening is for a reason, and even if you go through a difficult period something positive will come out of it.

I’ve got a feeling that no one can touch me, cos I’ve got Jesus, and he will sort my life out, and he has been sorting my life out since I became a Christian. I still have the same problems as anybody else but I am not concerned about it cos he’s been looking after me.
