With 2018 just around the corner, Forbes releases its 2017 Sports Video Game Awards. The list includes all the biggest sports video game releases this year, and "NBA 2K18" leads with the most awards.
Forbes kicks off the list with the wrestling video game "WWE 2K18." The latest installment to the WWE video game franchise received the awards for Best Player Models and Best Create-A-Player Suite. "WWE 2K18" got fairly good reviews from video game critics. IGN gave the wresting simulation video game a 7 out of 10 score.
"NBA 2K18" was released on Sep. 19 and quickly made a name for itself in the video game industry with various improvements. 2K18 is recognized with the most awards including Best Commentary, Best Soundtrack (NBA Live 18), Best Mini-Games, Best Franchise Mode, Beast Arcade Gameplay (MyPark mode), Best Single-Player Experience, and Best Single-Player Campaign Mode. "NBA 2K18" is also the most improved game of the year according to the list. Forbes awards the basketball video game the Best Overall Sports Game for its extensive gameplay experience.
Sony's "MLB The Show 17" receives the awards for Best Environment/Stadiums, Best Visual Presentation, and Best Simulation Game. The baseball-inspired video game also gets high ratings from critics, with a score rating of 85 percent from Metacritic, to name a few.
NFL crazed video game "Madden 18" is applauded for its online experience. The 29<sup>th installment to the Madden NFL series is awarded Most Consistent Online Experience, Best Overall Graphics, and Best Collector Mode.
Also included in the Forbes best Sports video games list is EA Sports' "NHL 18." The game gets the award for Best Multiplayer Experience. Forbes praises the co-op mode of the game and indicated that new modes for upcoming NHL video games is the best. Other video game experts agree with Forbes' take on "NHL 18's" multiplayer mode platform.
