Recently released comedy film "Father Figures" received mostly negative feedback from critics. Many movie experts and movie goers found the movie as lacking in inspiration and execution.

Warner Bros. Pictures movie "Father Figures" is one of the most anticipated comedy films to be released before 2017 comes to an end with all the big names included. The movie centers on fraternal twin brothers Kyle Reynolds (Owen Wilson) and Peter Reynolds (Ed Helms) who goes on an adventure to search for their father, who they believed to have been dead for many years.

The movie got a low score rating of 22% from Rotten Tomatoes, 5.3 out of 10 score from IMDb, and a D+ from AV Club.

The movie was slammed by a number of movie reviewers for its lack of inspiration. The New York Times, for one, described the movie as falling short on inspiration albeit having overqualified actors.  "Father Figures" was also riddled with unfunny jokes and attempt at humor, according to both fans and critics.

The stars of the movie, Wilson and Helms, did receive a few positive reactions from fans about their surprisingly good chemistry. However, the entire cast was criticized for not being able to maximize the full potential of the flick. "Father Figures" also stars Golden Globe Awards recipient Glenn Close, Academy Awards winner J.K. Simmons, and more talented stars.

The movie was directed by world renowned cinematographer Lawrence Sher who worked with other comedy movies like "The Hangover" trilogy and "The Dictator."

"Father Figures" is not the first movie that included both Wilson and Helms. Back in 2009, Helms was recruited to star in the fantasy comedy film "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" which starred Wilson. Helms, however, was uncredited in the movie.
