Don Moen Leads Historical Worship in Japan

Internationally renowned worship leader Don Moen made his first stop in Japan this week in over four years.

Moen, who recently played in Osaka and Yokohama, made an appearance on the 24th of July at the Tokyo Central Church in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, where he performed new songs from his upcoming album Hiding Place for nearly a thousand gathered at the venue.

The concert, which Moen left to "God's leading" in spontaneous worship, saw the unveiling of several new tracks from Moen's October release Hiding Place including "Still/Be Still My Soul," "Hiding Place," and "He Never Sleeps," with a characteristic Moen sharing the stories behind each of the songs.

"One day I realised I had prayed the same thing to God every night," said Moen in introduction of "He Never Sleeps." "But God is never too tired to hear our prayers, even it's the same everyday. He is one that never sleeps."

Along with leading those gathered into worship, Moen led several crowd members to Christ as well. After praying together with them, Moen commented that it was the "greatest decision" of their lives.

Among those gathered that evening who were already believers, many commented that they truly, "felt the presence of God," and His Kingdom coming.

Moen will be playing several dates in Asia for the next weeks including a date in Jakarta, Indonesia on July 27 and Singapore on Aug. 4.
