Disney has introduced its first-ever boy princess character. The character made its debut in episode 16 of Disney XD's animated television series "Star vs the Forces of Evil."

The episode that aired on Nov. 13 centers on the lead character Marco Diaz who posted as Princess Turdina in order to save St. Olga's Reform School for the Wayward Princesses from the hands of Ms. Heinous, the schoolmaster.

In the said episode, the other princesses defended Diaz from Ms. Heinous who indicated that the students were "Championing a hero (Marco Diaz) who's been lying all along."

The other princesses then came to his aid. One princess said, "Why does it matter if he is a boy? Nothing he said was wrong." Another princess continued with, "He can be a princess if he wants, too." The first princess then chanted "Turdina is a state of mind."

Disney and the show's creator, Daron Nefcy, have not released any statement or information if their decision is rooted to promote the LGBT community.

Several publications did consider the episode to be a beautiful message for several people. According to Huffington Post, the episode encourages people, especially the young ones, to be true to their identity and gender.

Earlier in 2017, "Star vs the Forces of Evil" also showed its first same-sex kiss scene. Second season's episode 39 featured two men kissing during a concert.

Disney's first-ever gay character was also introduced on the hit show "Andi Mack." The supporting character, Cyrus Goodman, played by Joshua Rush, made the revelation of him being gay in the premiere episode of season 2 on Oct. 27. The young actor also hinted the storyline on his Instagram account. Rush wrote, "Andi Mack gives young people and their parents, mentors, and champions a meaningful way to talk about these topics and the power to decide their futures. The decision to introduce the character was well received by Disney fans and media entities.
