Since its launch for PC last year, the survival horror video game "Dead by Daylight" has made its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One earlier this year. However, its expansion to other platforms may stop there, as releasing a Nintendo Switch version of the game is unlikely, according to its developer.
During the New York Comic Con held this weekend, "Dead by Daylight" developer Behaviour Interactive shared some details about the future of the game. According to the lead designer Mathieu Cote, the team has no plans to produce a Nintendo Switch version of the game at this time.
Cote noted that there are a number of aspects that make creating a Switch version of the survival game complicated, including the unique controller system of the console as well as the technical requirements of such a port. According to the designer, these aspects make developing a Switch version more difficult compared to making an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version, which the company has already done.
Instead, the company is focusing on making the necessary enhancements to the game to maximize the capabilities of the new Xbox One X. These would probably be similar to the upgrades that the studio has employed on its PlayStation 4 Pro version.
Xbox One players can expect a "Dead by Daylight" with better resolution and a faster framerate. These would surely multiply the number of scares on the already horror-filled title.
Behaviour Interactive is also intent on bringing more content to the game. Recently, they announced the inclusion of a new Killer that survivors will be running from in the game.
Leatherface, from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," has been added as a playable killer in the game. He and his trusty chainsaw will deliver vicious and painful attacks that will haunt not only his victims, but all other survivors as well.
