Dallas Cowboys expected to make changes in coaching staff and roster for the 99th season

The season has ended for the Dallas Cowboys, and they are now looking forward to the next one. According to latest reports, the coaching staff led by head coach Jason Garrett will be altered for 2018, and the Cowboys are looking to maximize their roster.

The Cowboys are looking to fill out key coaching positions for 2018. Wide receivers coach Derek Dooley is headed to the University of Missouri as their new offensive coordinator. Rich Bisaccia and Steve Loney might also exit the team with Bisaccia rumored to look for new opportunities and Loney planning to retire.

A number of reports also suggest that Cowboys quarterback Kellen Moore might take the helm in the next season. Quarterback coach Wade Wilson and his secondary Joe Baker's contracts are about to expire with no confirmation that the two will return. Some sports publications also indicate that Moore should focus on coaching.

The Cowboys are also looking for ways on how to improve their roster, especially with a number of their players up for grabs. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence was recognized as a breakout star in 2017. Lawrence is expected to stay with the Cowboys next season after his performance last year. Lawrence, along with right guard Zack Martin, is included in Pro Bowl's second team.

The Cowboys might also consider inking another deal with linebacker Anthony Hitchens who set a career-high record of 84 tackles, two deflected passes, and a force fumble. The new record he established surely opened new doors for him and more teams taking interest.

Some players who made no impact in 2017 according to critics are also going to be free agents like cornerback Bene Benwikere, Guard Jonathan Cooper, and linebacker Kyle Wilber.

The Cowboys ended the 98th season with 9 victories and 7 defeats. They also ranked second in the East next to Philadelphia Eagles, which are in the Wild Card round.
