Catholic Cultural Centers Strengthen the Culture of Catholic Church in Society

(Italy) At the Press Conference in Vatican, bishop Guiseppe Betori, general secretory of Bishop's conference in Italy, emphasized the number of Catholic cultural centers in Italy.

A presentation featuring a national listing of Catholic cultural centers showed that there are in sum 350 institutions except Catholic universities and academies. More than 3/4 are situated in Northern part of Italy mostly in Lombardia.

Catholic cultural centers are led by volunteers. These centers are part of a long-term program named "National project", which is led by chairman of Bishop's conference in Italy, cardinal Camilo Ruini from 1994.

With this net of cultural institutions, the Catholic Church wants to built the dialog with the world of culture in Italy. This project propose to strengthen the culture of Catholic church in the society.
