Earlier reports said the new Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphone is expected to be released sometime by the second quarter of this year.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom handset is expected to come with a 13 mega pixel camera that comes with a unique 3x optical zoom feature. Other camera features include optical image stabilization, laser autofocus, and dual-LED flash capabilities.

In addition to the primary camera, the new handset will have a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera.

While this new phone is attractive for aspiring photographers, Asus's new ZenFone Selfie device is designed for selfie fans and enthusiasts. The Asus ZenFone Selfie comes with a whopping 13 mega pixel front-facing camera that comes with many features as well.

The Asus ZenFone Zoom is expected to run on the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and is powered by Intel's Atom Z3580 chipset. Like the ZenFone Selfie and ZenFone 2 handsets, the ZenFone Zoom also has a 5.5 inch display screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. It will also come with 4 GB worth of RAM and up to 128 GB internal memory storage.

The ZenFone Zoom will be powered by a 3000 mAh battery and allows users to insert two sim cards simultaneously. The colors available for this new handset are glacier white and meteorite black, according to GSM Arena.

The Taiwanese company's recent release of the new ZenFone 2 smartphone in the U.S. is part of the firm's plan to expand its smartphone business.

Another new device unveiled by Asus at the recent Computex 2015 event is the ZenWatch 2 device, a successor to the ZenWatch, which was released last November 2014. The new wearable device is expected to come in two different sizes, according to reports.
