Apple has revealed a bunch of new emoji characters that will be rolling out with its future iOS 11.1 update. These new symbols will be available to iPhone and iPad users once the new update arrives next week.

The new emoji are adapted from the approved characters in Unicode 10, which included 15 new emoji. The new set includes various characters, including gender neutral characters, more emotive faces, animals, food, clothing, and mythical creatures.

One of the most important characters in the new set of revealed emoji is the Love-You Gesture, which was designed after the "I love you" hand sign in the American Sign Language (ASL). This is a very meaningful addition for users of the ASL.

iOS 11 will be bringing new face emoji that depict different age groups. They are designed to be gender neutral will also be available in various skin tones. The heart emoji is also adding a new color. An orange heart is joining the five different colored hearts already available. Now only an indigo heart emoji is needed to complete a full rainbow hearts set.

New smiley faces are also arriving, including a foul-mouthed angry emoticon a hushing "silence" smiley, a curious one wearing a monocle, and a crazy face.

There will also be a varied set of additions to the animal emoji. A giraffe, a zebra, a hedgehog, a cricket and a long-necked dinosaur that looks like a Brachiosaurus will be added in the new iOS version.

Fantasy-lovers and gamers will glad to know that new fantasy and mythical-themed emoji are arriving. A staff-wielding wizard, a fairy, a vampire, and a mermaid will be coming to Apple device keyboards soon.

The emoji are also preparing for cold weather with the addition of a scarf, gloves, a trench coat, and a baseball cap.

The food section is also getting some sumptuous additions, with a Chinese takeout box complete with chopsticks, a pie, and a piece of broccoli.

The iOS update will also bring the rock climbing emoji, as well as a spa, sled, and curling characters.
