Endorsers on the sports brand Adidas have joined together for a short advertisement. Even Brooklyn Nets star Jeremy Lin took a little time off from his rehabilitation to be part of the commercial.
Adidas started its "Calling All Creators" campaign to inspire people from all over the world to pursue their endeavors. The company recently uploaded its advertisement that features big names from sports like Lionel Messi, James Harden, Lindsey Horan, Brandon Ingram, Kristaps Porzingis, and more. The video also includes retired athletes like football's David Beckham and basketball's Tracy McGrady.
Adidas also invited stars from different industries like rapper Pusha T, rapper and music producer Pharrell Williams, fashion icon Alexander Wang, and runway star Karlie Kloss.
The video promotes not only industries but social issues as well. In the ad, the endorsers talk about influencing the people and how one industry affects another. Kloss states, "It's all intertwined, fashion inspires music."
The campaign sports the catchphrase "Let's create" to advocate equality across industries, tackling race, gender, and beliefs.
Lin also joined the salvo to share his conviction, voicing out the line, "It's not about borders." There were no confirmations from Adidas nor the athletes if that particular line is a tirade against U.S. President Donald Trump who is planning to build a wall between Mexico and USA.
Lin continues his season-long rehab in Canada in order to prepare for the next season. The Nets guard recently posted a picture of him on Instagram with a man named Aaron in Vancouver. In the post, Lin greeted everyone a merry Christmas and spoke about equality. He captioned the image with, "Merry Christmas!! You know, I used to never want to post stuff like this bc of fear it'd come off the wrong way or arrogant. But as I get older, my conviction grows so I feel the need to speak out more. I realize how much our society is filled with racial inequality, lacks compassion and endorses self-promotion."
