Just like with the Golden Globes, fantasy drama film "The Shape of Water" leads the Oscars with 13 nominations including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, and 10 more.

"Call Me By Your Name," "Darkest Hour," "Dunkirk," "Get Out," "Lady Bird," "Phantom Thread," "The Post," "The Shape of Water," and "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri" are up for the Best Picture Award.

"The Disaster Artist," "The Greatest Showman," and "I, Tonya" were not able to make the cut for best picture like they did in the Golden Globes.

Hollywood veteran Meryl Streep received her 21st Oscars nomination for her role as Katharine Graham in "The Post." Streep is up against Sally Hawkins, Frances McDormand, Margot Robbie, and Saoirse Ronan for Best Actress. Christopher Nolan ("Dunkirk"), Jordan Peele ("Get Out"), Greta Gerwig ("Lady Bird"), Paul Thomas Anderson ("Phantom Thread"), and Guillermo Del Toro ("The Shape of Water") are going for the Best Director/Directing award.

Peele just stirred the internet with his hilarious tweet following "Get Out's" four Oscars nomination. "I just spoke to Daniel (Daniel Kaluuya). You know when you're on the phone trying to disguise the sound of an ugly cry? I failed at that," he tweeted. Peele's movie "Get Out" is considered as one of the biggest surprise movies to be part of the Academy Awards by publications and critics.

"Mudbound's" cinematographer Rachel Morrison is also making headlines as the first female cinematographer to be nominated for an Oscars. Visit Oscar's official website to see the full list of nominations.

Another individual who is not nominated but will be part of the upcoming Academy Awards is causing quite the reaction online. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel will host the grand event once again and he started out with a funny skit of his struggle after the 89th Academy Awards Best Picture fiasco.
