God's Promise

Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep..
-Genesis 17:9

God made a contract with man.

Abraham, our ancestor of faith, left his country, his people and his Father's Household following God's promise of a greater land that would be shown to him.

Following this promise of something greater, Abraham was able to recieve this covenant from God, which we ourselves hold onto even to this day.

This is our faith. Stepping back from this relationship, we can see the heart of God for us. That though man fell and left God, he endlessly comes back and seeks always to bring us back into His Love.

Therefore he gives us this promise;

Genesis 17:7
I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you

We are descendants of Abraham by Faith, and we too should be the ones to set up this faith in God's Promise.

Though faith is often hard to hold on to, remembering that we stand in the position of promise can give us hope for a brighter future!

Prayer: Dear Father, though many times my faith may shake, please help me to be more like Abraham who left behind his past life for your promise of something greater.
