The seventh and final season of "Parks and Recreation" will start in January, which means that fans will have to start preparing themselves for their last goodbye to NBC's critically acclaimed comedy.

The two-hour episode premiere will mark the series finale of the show that gave Amy Poehler a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series in a Musical or Comedy category.

In the first two episodes, titled "2017" and "Ron and Jammy," respectively, viewers will get a glimpse of the future of the residents of Pawnee, Indiana. The promo for the season 7 premiere reads:

"The Farewell season of Parks and Recreation comes to you from the distant future.

A video trailer was also released, showing droids making parcel deliveries in Pawnee. It also shows Poehler's character Leslie and her husband Ben, played by actor Adam Scott, opening the door for a drone delivery. Aziz Ansari's character Tom and Jim O'Heir's Jerry/Barry/Gary is also featured in the trailer.

But the season will also welcome another fan favorite character who earlier bade farewell to the show during the sixth season. Actress Rashida Jones, who portrayed the role of Leslie's best friend Ann, is reportedly returning this season to wrap up her character properly. In an interview with TVLine, "Parks and Recreation" executive producer Mike Schur broke the news that Ann will return to Pawnee in the coming episodes of the mockumentary.

"The entire series is predicated on Ann Perkins coming to a small public forum and complaining about something in her neighborhood ... That was literally the design of the show, and it just wouldn't have felt right if we didn't have Ann back in one episode, at least. I'm really happy that it all worked out," Schur said.

The executive producer also hinted that fans will see what Ann was up to after she left the town with Rob Lowe's character Chris to move to Michigan with their son.

"Parks and Recreation" season 7 premieres on Jan. 13 on NBC.
