'The Young and the Restless' spoilers, recap: Devon and Hilary plan for the future

Thursday on "The Young and the Restless," Adam said goodbye to Connor, and he told Chelsea that it was goodbye for them, too. He left for the meeting and Chelsea broke down and cried.

Meanwhile, Sage told Nick that she didn't know if she'd get the future she wants. He told her he had to go to a meeting and that she should rest. Nick told her not to worry about Gabriel. After he left, Sage wrote a letter to Nick about protecting Gabriel's secret. She put the letter behind the bar.

At the hospital, Ashley told Phyllis that she'd been called to attend a meeting at Newman-Abbott. Phyllis hoped to be invited to the next one. Ashley left Jack's room, and Ben picked her up and spun her around and he told her to call him doctor. Ashley said she's happy for him, although she regrets losing her best chemist.

At Newman-Abbott, Victoria, Billy, Abby, Kyle, Nick and Ashley waited for Gabe to arrive. When he entered, he announced that the meeting was about something personal and that it would affect them all. Just as he started by saying that Gabriel Bingham was gone, Chelsea arrived and told him that he should not say another word. Nick asked him if he's stepping down, and Adam said it was about restructuring but he had to talk to Chelsea. Everyone left, and once they were alone, Adam asked Chelsea why she stopped him. She said she did it for them. Adam said he wants them to stay together. Chelsea told him that he's Gabriel Bingham, and her husband, Adam, is dead.

Marisa arrived at The Underground, and Sage told her that she was leaving. As Noah arrived, Marisa noticed Sage's letter. Later, Marisa caught up with Sage at the park and handed her back her letter. She said that Gabriel said nothing about Adam Newman.

Here's what to expect on "The Young and the Restless" on Friday, July 17: Devon and Hilary plan for the future; Avery makes a decision; Michael tries to broker peace with Cane and Lily.

"The Young and the Restless" airs Mondays to Fridays at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
