Western players will have to wait longer for the Yakuzas to arrive on their consoles, as the release of "Yakuza 6: The Song of Life" has been delayed to Apr. 17 in the Americas and Europe.

The good part is that the delay isn't really that long as it is only less than a month's wait from March 20 to Apr. 17. This move apparently gives the developers a longer time to iron out bugs and glitches that would otherwise be present in the full release had they gone along with the original release schedule. The decision was also not something the studio made lightly, and they apologized for the delay.

"'Yakuza 6: The Song of Life's' release is being moved back a month to Apr. 17. This was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly. But — with bad news, we also have some good — this gives us more time to line things up for launch, and on Feb. 27, the demo for 'Yakuza 6' will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release," according to a statement from SEGA.

This means that a demo will then be available for players on the aforementioned date, in which the testers will be able to download and experience a limited section of the game to see how it plays and if they like it enough to preorder or buy the full release. Additionally, those who have played the demo and made a considerable amount of progress in it will be able to export their save files into the full release, saving time and avoiding possible repetition.

Apart from the note on the delay, not much else has been explained by SEGA and the developers regarding the move and the specific reason for the one-month delay. It is also important to note that the game will be a PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive, meaning it will only be available for that platform, which is unfortunate for Xbox One and PC owners.
