Xiaomi Night Vision Edition Yi Camera price is just $25

 Xiaomi’s official web store

The third largest smartphone maker in the world, Xiaomi, has announced another affordable action camera alongside the company's regular Yi Camera and it will be called Yi Camera Night Vision Edition. According to Tbreak Media, the action camera is only going to carry a price tag of $25 and will feature a 940 mm night vision camera sensor that will produce high quality images and videos in areas where there are limited sources of light.

Similar to its company's Yi Camera, Yi Camera Night Vision Edition will be able to capture 1080p videos at a fluid 60 frames per second, along with producing images that boast up to a maximum resolution of 16 megapixels. To allow flexibility while transferring images and videos to other storage mediums, a Wi-Fi adapter is present inside the camera, which is also able interact with the user's smartphone via a dedicated application.

A MicroSD storage slot is also present, with a maximum capacity recognition system of up to 64 GB. The $25 action camera will be providing a ton of competition to GoPro Hero, which currently retails for $129.99, and can only capture 1080p footage at 30 frames per second. Additionally, it is only able to accommodate half the amount of storage compared to Yi Camera Night Vision Edition. Surprisingly, despite possessing a $129.99 price tag, GoPro did not end up incorporating a Wi-Fi adapter inside the product.

While it does feature a Bluetooth module, file transfer rates will be limited to the lack of speed and the absence of a Wi-Fi adapter. It is not known whether the affordable action camera will make it to the United States market.

If it does, then GoPro's lineup of action cameras will be given a run for their money.
