It is going be a while before DC fans are able to watch the "Watchmen" on HBO, with the production schedules pointing to an early 2019 or late 2018 release.

The good news, however, is that production is set to begin for the television adaptation of Alan Moore's 1986 graphic novel of the same name. This means that there might soon be some set photos which some of the actors might reveal in order to give fans an idea of what show will look like.

Casey Bloys, president of HBO, has spoken up about the state of the upcoming HBO superhero series, where he has revealed that what the showrunners have done is quite astounding and makes him confident that the show will hold on its own.

This puts previous worries about the show to rest, since earlier last year, Damon Lindelof, the showrunner, stated that he holds the source material from Moore in high regard, and it would be quite an insult if they do the adaptation wrong.

"I hold the source material in such high regard, it would literally be the worst feeling in the world to screw it up," said Lindelof.

With that in mind, Bloys recently expressed, "I've read the script, it's amazing. I'm thrilled, I imagine we'll shoot that this year." This was in regards to the screenplay and script written by Damon Lindelof, which detailed the plot of the upcoming series. Now, it is up to the actors and the rest of the crew in order to make sure that the screenplay gets its much-needed translation into practice.

Bloys also has not revealed a specific month or date as to when the production will begin, just that it is expected to happen this year. This opens up his statement to a lot of speculation, since no cast members have been revealed yet, and for all fans know, production might even begin late into 2018.

Rest assured, the executives and the showrunners at HBO are now hard at work in making the adaptation as stellar as its source material. Fans should stay tuned for further announcements from HBO.
