"The End Times" are nigh once again, but this time, the trouble is double, as not only the vicious Skaven will be bringing apocalypse but also their overlords, the brutal agents of Chaos, in the new reveal for "Warhammer: Vermintide 2."

Developer Fat Shark has officially unveiled "Vermintide 2," and it shows the looming threat of Chaos warriors in addition to the rat-men, Skaven, who were the antagonists of the first game. This could mean a twist in the formula, as instead of just fighting off giant lightly armored rats, players will also have to worry about the hulking and spiked champions and demons of Chaos. Compared to the Skaven, Chaos combatants wear full-plate armor and carry weapons as large as they are. It will likely require good teamwork to take these down.

So far, there have been three factions revealed for Chaos, namely Chaos Warriors, Chaos Nurgle, and Chaos Spawn.

Chaos Warriors are the frontliners of the Chaos army and are physically imposing humanoid demons whose strength makes them stand out from the pack of rat-men.

Chaos Nurgle are devouts of the Chaos God Nurgle whose dominion is disease and decay. As such, they are grotesque and monstrous amalgams of races with disgusting attacks that can poison the players.

Chaos Spawn are the most hideous of all the Chaos demons and are otherworldly creatures that barely resemble a comprehensible form. They are the most mutated combatants due to their being tainted by the Chaos, which may refer to the malevolent entities residing in a hidden dimension and time-space in the "Warhammer Fantasy" universe.

Together, these three known forces of Chaos and their Skaven pawns will try to annihilate what is left of the kingdoms of mankind, Dwarfs, and Elves. Four heroes will have to team up and try to thwart off the agents of "The End Times," as well as survive them. Players can either get help from three other live players or the artificial intelligence (AI) in order to survive in the game though it is recommended to play with others since the AI has certain limitations in terms of communication.

"Warhammer: Vermintide 2" has no exact release date yet but is set to arrive in the first quarter of 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
