The second season of "Vice Principals" just concluded which prompted the show's creator Danny McBride to reveal that a third installment may or may not happen in the future.

Showrunner and actor McBride who plays Neal Gamby in the dark comedy told TV Line recently, "We had no ambition to ever do anything outside of [these 18 episodes]. But I got along with all these people so well and I had such a good time [making the show] that I have since thought, 'What would I do if we continued it?' It might happen someday."

It appears that McBride just wanted to do two seasons of nine episodes each and end the narrative right there. Each season would be like a 9-hour movie divided into several installments. His approach to the series was like how film directors would approach movies.

"It'd be foolish to make the same feature film over and over again," he further added. Therefore, he wrote the series with a definitive ending that would clearly show the characters' closure. The story is about two principals, Gamby and Lee Russell (Walton Goggins) who go up against each other to get the Vice Principal post at North Jackson High School. Chaos ensues as the two go toe-to-toe to win the respect and trust of the teachers and students.

In the season finale, Russell proved to Gamby that he was not the one who shot him but that it was actually Ms Abbott (Edi Patterson). She did that because she was jealous of Gamby's relationship with Amanda Snodgrass (Georgia King). In the end, Abbott was caught and arrested while Gamby and Russell went back on good terms once again.

Though season 3 of "Vice Principals" may not be in the cards in the near future, McBride said that it may happen someday. Stay tuned for more updates as the situation unfolds.
