"Torment: Tides of Numenera" is coming to gaming consoles next year, but players who are familiar with the InXile Entertainment title have already started playing the game on Steam Early Access. Recently, a new trailer was released about the upcoming role-playing video game, which features a new class called Nano.

In the trailer, it was said that Nanos are the sorcerers of the ninth world. They earned this name and reputation through their mastery of ancient technology, which to the untrained mind, might seem like magic. Nanos use the ancient, advanced Numenera technology to alter reality or acquire other information that others may deem impossible to get a hold of.

Once a player chooses the Nano class, he will receive a stat bonus to his intellect or knowledge of the lore of the ninth world. With the Scan Thoughts ability, the player will get to know the surface thoughts of most people or creatures as these thoughts will appear in conversations in the game. This feature will also enable players to wield more control over conversations, as gamers will have the advantage of knowing what the other person or creature is thinking about. The Nano class enables one to achieve goals through words, and not by sword.

If things turn violent, a player's best strategy as part of the Nano class is to fight from afar using ancient devices. One may even heal or teleport allies around the battlefield to gain the advantage. Players may also conjure creatures that will fight under one's command.

The game developer will drop two more trailers on Wednesday, Nov. 23 which will reveal more classes — Jack, the Versatile Blade; and Glaive, The Elite Sword.

"Torment: Tides of Numenera" is out for PC via Steam Early Access. The game is expected to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2017. The game will reportedly exit Steam Early Access next year, but players who want to give it a try can play it now for $44.99.
