Fans of "The Division" better get ready for a big update, as the third-person shooter game gets it 1.8 patches, introducing a plethora of new features which is sure to keep players invested even more.

Ubisoft has finally launched the new 1.8 update for "The Division." While not the first to be introduced to the game ever since its launch, this one is considered the biggest in terms of features. It is not clear when the specific time of the update is, but players whose gaming time coincide with the update's arrival will need to close their sessions and restart the game in order to install the update.

Some of the most notable additions included in the update are the two new game modes being introduced to "The Division." These are a player-versus-player (PvP) Skirmish mode, which is essentially a 4v4 team deathmatch, and a player-versus-environment (PvE) Resistance, which is a horde mode where players must survive against an enemy onslaught.

To accompany these two new game modes, "The Division's" 1.8 update will also be introducing a new PvE map expansion called West Side Piers, as well as a rework of the Dark Zone system called "Rogue 2.0." Apart from the new content, gameplay balance changes are also present in the patch, particularly a new movement system.

Those looking for new ways to customize and optimize their in-game equipment so that they can make use of the new Optimization Station must invest in their favorite gear and achieve the perfect min-maxed build for their play style. This means more streamlined builds for players to share or follow, giving more depth to the game.

A robust selection of gear will also be included in the game. Some of them will be rare and will require a big deal of effort from the players to acquire. Among these are several new set items which all give a set bonus per five complementary gear.

The full patch notes are available on the game's official website.
