It seems the developers of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" are still enthusiastic a couple of years after their masterpiece was released, as they have developed new content update for the roleplaying game (RPG).

This new content, however, is not an official update to the game since it is a modification (mod) available for PC players only. Andrzej Kwiatkowski, Senior Gameplay Designer at CD Projekt RED who has worked on "Witcher 3" and is now working on the upcoming "Cyberpunk 2077," is responsible for the mod, so this could mean that it is semi-official since it was made by the developers themselves.

Kwiatkowski's mod, named "FCR3 - Immersion and Gameplay Tweaks," introduces fundamental gameplay and mechanic changes to the RPG. Interested players should bear in mind that these are Kwiatowski's personal adjustments and preferences for the game and CD Projekt RED's, meaning the development team as a whole is not accountable for any problems the mod might introduce.

What's special about the mod is that it brings back the original design intentions for the game during development since a lot of those have been scrapped to provide balance for the gameplay. Kwiatkowski is also aware of these and threw in his own balance changes, buffing underpowered skills, fixing immersion breakers, changing cosmetic items in-game, among other tweaks. The full list of changes can be seen in the mod's own page at the third-party modding website Nexus Mods.

A word of warning though, the mod will reset Geralt's (in-game protagonist) stats and skill point allocation, but despite the significant changes it introduces to the game, Kwiatkowski has claimed that it does not add much conflict with other mods, save gameplay rework mods. The author has also provided several compatibility options should players encounter some issues.

However, he did not state which game version the mod requires or whether the game expansions are affected by it, so players will have to try to find out. Luckily, the mod is free and can be installed rather easily as the author has provided installation instructions for it. Those interested can download the "Witcher 3" mod here.
