This week on "The Vampire Diaries," the CW show had plenty of plot twists which surprised fans of the series. Not only was it revealed that Stefan (Paul Wesley) wanted Julian (Todd Lasance) dead for killing his unborn child, but Damon (Ian Somerhalder) wants his mother dead for giving Kai the idea to take Elena, who is still in an enchanted sleep, away from him. The fight between the Salvatore brothers versus Lily and Julian also revealed each characters' motivations for wanting to destroy the other.

But the biggest plot twist of all is that Jo and Alaric's unborn twins were saved by the Gemini coven and the babies are now in Caroline's (Candice King) body. This storyline will certainly help explain King's real-life pregnancy, but there will surely be a lot of questions about the plot. Moreover, the plot twist does not explain how Alaric and Candice became engaged in the future, and while Steroline fans are aghast at this development, there could be a good reason why Candice and Stefan aren't together anymore three years into the future.

In the Thanksgiving episode of "The Vampire Diaries," there will be more conflict within the Salvatore family as Damon, Stefan, and Lily have a heated confrontation during the holiday.

In the upcoming episode titled "Mommie Dearest," Stefan and Damon confront their mother with painful memories of their childhood in order to get through Lily and Julian's manipulating ways. However, when Lily reveals a dark secret she's been keeping for over 160 years, Stefan and Damon are left questioning everything they've ever known about their family. Meanwhile, determined to prove himself to Lily, Enzo faces off with Julian and challenges him to a duel, but a surprising twist complicates matters. As for Caroline, her world is shaken when Valerie reveals some life-changing news to her.

In the promo for the episode, Lily says that if Julian dies, so does she, and it's all because of the spell. As Lily falls to the ground, Damon and Stefan look at her and Damon says, "Best. Thanksgiving. Ever."

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.
