With season 2 of "The Strain" done, fans have a lot of questions following the show's season finale, which season 3 hopes to shed light on once it airs.

"The Strain" season 2 finale, entitled "Night Train," ended with the Occido Lumen falling in the hands of Setrakian (David Bradley) and Nora (Mia Maestro) dying after being infected. With Zach (Max Charles) in Kelly's (Natalie Brown) clutches, it has yet to be revealed what Eph (Corey Stoll) will do next.

In "The Strain" season 3, Nora's loss will lead Eph on a rush to have his revenge and find out what will happen to his son. Eph will also still continue his research to create a bio weapon against the Strigoi.

As for Zach, Kelly could just either turn the boy or use him as bait to lure Eph into a trap. But without any clue as to where Kelly might have taken Zach, Eph must find a way to track him down.

With Nora gone as well as Coco (Lizzie Brocheré), there's a possibility for more characters to join the show. But with its already big ensemble, it would be a challenge to give all of the characters their own stories to go on with. Fans should, however, watch out for Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) as she will play a big part in the upcoming season.

Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones) will also be one of the main casts to watch out for. Fans will have to wait and see whether or not he will make good of his threat to kill Setrakian, or if the two will join forces to fight their common enemy.

Eldritch (Jonathan Hyde) will also continue struggling with Coco's death, which will definitely have a big effect on how his story will evolve in season 3.

With Setrakian, Fet (Kevin Durand), and the Occido Lumen traveling with Quinlan and his horde, and Eph torn by the loss of his loved ones, the whole dynamics of "The Strain" will definitely change in season 3. With only 10 episodes slated for upcoming season, a faster development of the story may be expected.

"The Strain" will return for its third season in 2016 on FX.
