In the upcoming episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off series "The Originals," two characters will continue to fall further in love. Executive producer Michael Narducci spilled the latest details about Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah's (Daniel Gillies) rekindled flame.
After Hayley managed to achieve a rather difficult feat, finding a cure for the Mikaelsons, this werewolf fell into the arms of her love, Elijah. Both of them professed their love for one another. And that may have just jump-started their relationship.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Narducci admitted that that scene, where they both said their "I love yous," is a "big step forward for them." He also told the news outlet that, what they share surpasses mere attraction. Both feel intense loyalty and romance for each other.
These happy days, however, are numbered. Eventually, the pair will come across new challenges and complications that could either make or break this bond. According to Narducci, in the future episodes of "The Originals," the pair will face heartbreak. The exec did not reveal if the pair will survive the ordeals. He said that he only hopes they can endure them together.
Perhaps one of the challenges the pair will face has to do with Hayley's daughter with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Hope (Summer Fontana). Hayley will have to tread carefully to make her daughter understand her feelings for Elijah, who is Hope's uncle.
Speaking with E! Online, Narducci teased a looming threat, one so dangerous that the entire supernatural community of New Orleans will feel threatened by. The exec talked about a dark entity coming their way. He said, "it is the return of this very dark very scary presence and a haunting that is going to take place and will play out more and more over the course of every subsequent episode."
Like the fans, the creators are excited to see how the characters will react to this new enemy.
"The Originals" season 4 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
