In the next episode of "The Middle," Frankie Heck (Patricia Heaton) wants to stop being the person who does everything her family tells her to do without any complaints.

The synopsis and promotional pictures for the upcoming installment titled "Role of a Lifetime" were just released recently and revealed that Frankie has come to a realization as her 25th wedding anniversary approaches. During the past years as a mom, she has always been the one her husband Mike (Neil Flynn) and kids have looked up to when they needed something. She would gladly meet their needs without complaints. However, when Mike tells her to plan their 25th wedding anniversary celebration which both of them forgot, she puts her foot down in frustration and tells her family that she will not play that role anymore.

This prompts her kids to also rethink their roles and rebel against what their purposes are in the family. The promotional pictures show Sue (Eden Sher) arguing with her older brother Axl (Charlie McDermott) and then covering her ears when Brick (Atticus Shaffer) starts playing his musical instrument. It is apparent that the whole family is having a noisy argument. It remains to be seen if the Heck family will be able to come to a resolve regarding their roles in the family and bring down the tension.

In the last episode, Frankie discovered that a woman died in their house decades ago which prompted her to investigate the death. She insisted that there was foul play involved and went to search for clues with Brick's help. In the end, however, they realized that the death was really the result of natural causes which ruled out homicide.

"The Middle" season 9 episode 5 will hit the airwaves on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
