In the next episode of "The Mayor," Courtney Rose (Brandon Michael Hall) and his staff welcome and accommodate the governor of California to Fort Grey.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Here Comes the Governor" was just released recently and showed Rose giving a tour of Fort Grey to the visiting Governor Fillucci (Tom Wilson). They both appear before the press in the park as they give comments and smile before the cameras. "Don't be afraid to hobnob," Valentina Barella (Lea Michele) tells Rose at the office. Apparently, this is a good opportunity for Rose to associate with someone of higher authority in order to move up the political ladder. Fillucci and Rose are shown next exchanging some pleasantries at the country club sauna and appear to be getting along splendidly. Rose will do whatever it takes to build some connections in politics.

Rose wears an awkward orange jacket just to connect with Fillucci as well as for political gain. "I get that I look ridiculous," the mayor admits to his staff including Barella, Jermaine Leforge (Bernard David Jones) and T.K. Clifton (Marcel Spears). However, it seems that he is committed to playing the political game. Later, Leforge asks Clifton, "Is he [Rose] faking having a good time?" It remains to be seen if Rose's political antics will backfire on him or not.

In the last episode, the mayor was torn between two women with whom he could potentially date. He brought the duplicitous Danielle (Meagan Tandy) to the Fort Grey Medical Center Gala but only realized later that he should have asked the kinder Amber (Kali Hawk) instead. He tried to win Amber's heart again through a song-and-dance number with his friends.

"The Mayor" season 1 episode 7 will air on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
