The wait for the 19th installment of "The Legend of Zelda" series may soon be over, after rumors claimed that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released in June 2017.

WCCFTech spotted a Twitter update of credible insider Laura Kate Dale claiming that Nintendo is planning to release "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" in the European market on Friday, June 16, 2017, three days later than the expected launch in North America. She also claimed that the Wii U edition will be released in Europe on June 23.

This could corroborate the previous reports citing a product listing from Target, claiming that the release of the upcoming action-adventure video game in the US is on June 13.

However, Gaming Bolt suggests that releasing the upcoming game on June 16 could be an unexpected move from Nintendo since it will fall on the same day as the beginning of E3 2017. This could mean that the game's launch could be overshadowed by the annual gaming expo.

On the other hand, earlier reports claim that the source code from several websites of Nintendo of Europe specified that the possible release date of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" amiibo could be on March 4.

While the release date of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" remains in question, Nintendo revealed that the next installment of "The Legend of Zelda" series will have some similarity to the original "The Legend of Zelda" game that was released in 1986 because it will allow players to explore the game's universe freely.

The game's development was initially announced by Eiji Aonuma during the January 2013 Nintendo Direct stream. It was revealed that the game will be released in 2015, but it went through several delays until Nintendo announced that the game will now have a 2017 release date.

In another news, Kotaku revealed that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was given an M rating by the Australian Classification Board on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
