Teresa Giudice reveals details of her life in prison

After serving more than 11 months in federal prison and 44 days under house arrest, Teresa Giudice is now a free woman.

This week, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star embarked on a media blitz to promote her memoir, "Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again" and the tome was released Tuesday, Feb. 9.

In the book, the 43-year-old revealed details of her stay in the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut and also gave an insight of her last day at home before she turned herself in on Jan. 5, 2015.

Teresa said that her daughters were inconsolable when it was time for her to leave the house.

"It was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my entire life," she said.

In a recent interview with E!, the Bravo star said that it was her second daughter, Gabriella, who had the hardest time saying goodbye among her four daughters. She also said that Gabriella emailed her every day, sharing details about her daily routine and that she printed out all her daughter's emails while she was in prison.

In her book, Teresa also described seeing maggots in the food, prison fights, and even ongoing affairs behind bars. She revealed that she passed the time working out three times a day and as a result, she lost 8 pounds and went down two to three dress sizes. The cookbook author said that she did everything from running on the track to lifting weights, but the one that she enjoyed the most was yoga.

"It got me through this whole ordeal, and I can't live without it now," she said.

The reality star also said that she attended several parties in prison and at one birthday party, she was having such a good time "I actually forgot I was in prison."

"Turning the Tables" is now out.
