Leah Messer and ex-husband Corey Simms have come to an agreement regarding the custody of their twin daughters.

According to Radar Online, the two were able to come to a decision without the input of a judge, and this happened when they met in court for a hearing on Jan. 27.

A source close to Simms told Radar that the two were given a few minutes to figure the situation out on their own and that the judge left the room to allow them to talk in private.

Messer and Simms then reportedly spoke in a very civil manner with each other and agreed to share custody of their 6-year-old daughters Ali and Aleeah. The insider said that the judge did not order the two to do anything and "only signed off on the settlement."

Leah lost primary custody back in October when it was alleged that her children were not making it to school on time. It was reported that Simms had the twins at his home on weekdays, while the reality star only got to spend time with them on weekends.

A source told In Touch magazine that Simms never intended to keep his daughters away from their mother when he filed for primary custody as he only wanted to protect the girls at the time.

"He never wanted to cut Leah out of their lives, or replace the girls' mother or anything else that fans were saying about him," said the source.

An insider told Us Magazine some details about the former couple's custody arrangement, saying that Leah will have the twins on Thursdays through Sundays, while Simms will have them from Mondays to Wednesdays. The source said that Simms will also have the girls one weekend a month, and that the two will "split the bills 50-50" as they co-parent.

Leah also has a two-year-old daughter, Addie, with her second ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert.
