This week's episode of "Supernatural" saw the return of John Winchester, but in a different form from what the boys are used to. This season, more characters will be returning to the CW show, and one of them is Sheriff Donna.

Jared Padalecki told Entertainment Weekly that the sheriff will be calling Sam (Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) later on in the season "because it seems like there is a crazed psycho-killer that's putting on Halloween masks." The brothers will then come in and find out what is powering the masks and whether they're possessed.

But before Sheriff Donna's return, next week, another "Supernatural" character will be coming back in the episode titled "Our Little World," and it's none other than Metatron (Curtis Armstrong). As Sam, Dean, and Castiel (Misha Collins) struggle with their battle with The Darkness, Castiel will be forced to bring Metatron in to help them.

Here is the synopsis for "Our Little World":

"Castiel seeks out Metatron's help to stop the Darkness. However, Metatron is pretty happy with his new life as a freelance videographer for the local news and isn't inclined to help the Winchesters or Castiel. Meanwhile, Crowley (Mark Sheppard) is losing his hold on Amara."

In the promo clip for episode 6, Castiel looks like he's at the end of his rope as he asks a puzzled Metatron, "What do you know about the Darkness?"

"The band?" Metatron asks.

Meanwhile, Amara is getting worse and is aging fast due to her regular diet of souls, and Crowley is having a hard time keeping her in line. When he tells her that she's grounded, Amara gives him a cold look and orders him to get out of her room. Later, she hits him on the head with a heavy object.

"We're really going to go in and kill Amara?" Sam asks. Dean says that they should go and hit her with everything they've got.

"Supernatural" airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on The CW.
