Things are about to get hotter in "Superhot," as the developers of the game have just announced an expansion for the unique first-person shooter (FPS).

Developer SUPERHOT Team has revealed "Mind Control Delete," a standalone expansion for their hit indie game "Superhot." Since it is a standalone expansion, players do not need the base game to be able to play or even understand it. In addition to that, it will also be free. The expansion is currently still a work in progress, but since it is free-to-play, gamers can speed up the development process by reporting anything wrong with the gameplay or the graphics.

"Mind Control Delete" adds roguelike elements to the first-person shooter. This means that players might have to reset their progress whenever they die, giving the game more challenge. It is also set in the same universe as "Superhot" and will utilize the base game's iconic slow/stop-motion gunplay.

An official announcement trailer has been uploaded to YouTube as well, showcasing the game's selling point, which is the highly tactical and smart combat where players are given the choice of doing it in a fast pace or taking their time to defeat enemies.

At the moment, "Mind Control Delete" is just in early access on Steam. Players who own "Superhot" will be able to jump in the early access tests immediately. Otherwise, fans will have to wait for the full release of the expansion to arrive in order to play for free.

"Superhot" was considered as one of the most innovative FPS last year due to its unique formula where time and pretty much everything else in-game only moves if the players move. This means bullets, enemies, and debris will be stuck in mid-air once the players halt their actions. This feature opens several ways to execute a firefight and lets players use their thinking much more so than other conventional FPS games.

"Mind Control Delete" for "Superhot" has no exact release date yet but is expected to arrive in Fall of 2018. It is now available on early access for "Superhot" owners.
