'Suits' season 5: upcoming episodes previewed

Suits USA Network

"Suits" returned from its hiatus this week and fans tuned in to see how Mike (Patrick J. Adams) is doing after the shocking events of the midseason finale. Last year, Mike was arrested for conspiracy to commit fraud just as he was about to leave the firm to start a new life with his fiancee, Rachel (Meghan Markle), while Harvey (Gabriel Macht) resigned from the company to prevent a major takeover from happening.

When the show returned for the second half of its fifth season, Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) started building her case against Mike, while Harvey and Mike put their heads together to find out who turned him in. Donna (Sarah Rafferty) also offered to help Harvey and in doing so she ended up reclaiming her position as his secretary.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Aaron Korsh talked about what fans can expect in upcoming episodes and also revealed that there will be familiar faces returning to the show.

"We're going to see many, many past characters; some you'll expect, and some you won't," said Korsh. "We're going to see past love interests, no doubt about it, including Scottie (Abigail Spencer), Jeff Malone (D.B. Woodside), Sheila Sazs (Rachel Harris)."

The producer said that apart from past loves, the remaining episodes will also see the return of past foes, friends, and "a surprise or two" appearance from some past associates of the firm.

On Mike and Rachel's wedding, Korsh told TVLine that the wedding will be put on hold for the time being as they won't choose to have it while dealing with this problem.

As for the dynamic between Harvey and Donna, the producer said that things are going to change a bit between the two of them while dealing with Mike's crisis and that there will be some "interesting scenes" with them as a result of it.
"Certainly, the scene where they get back together is going to be a fan favorite, I hope," said Korsh.

"Suits" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA.
