"Suicide Guy" may not be staying boxed in one platform following a successful release on the PC last year, as the game has been announced for the Nintendo Switch.

Indie Milan-based developer Chubby Pixel has revealed that it plans to port "Suicide Guy" into the hybrid handheld console. This was conspicuously announced on Twitter where the developers used the indie-friendly hashtag #ScreenshotSaturday and indicated that the game might get released as early as this year.

Fabio Ferrera, co-founder of Chubby Pixel, has posted to Twitter on behalf of his development company and showed a photo of the Switch running "Suicide Guy." This means that the game may be in its testing phase right now and might soon have more trailers and Switch gameplay videos revealed. Based on these, some speculate that it will only take several more months before an eventual release, keeping in line with the developer's estimates.

For those unfamiliar, "Suicide Guy" is not as grim as the title implies and was actually quite a lively video game released back in July 2017 for the PC. The premise of the game is about the protagonist named after the title who is stuck in his own dream where the only way of getting out or "waking up" is by killing himself in the dream world, compelling the players to find ways for him to commit suicide, hence the name.

This is easier said than done in the game since the environment is very vibrant and cheerful even which is enough to dissuade any suicide attempt. This means that finding ways to commit suicide in the game in order to break free from the character's dream will be difficult since the environment is designed to make people happy.

The games essentially plays like a first-person puzzle where players will have to put their observation skills and curiosity to the test, where 25 levels of physics-based gameplay await the gamers. Regardless, the game is not about suicide or depression and has no themes about both despite the name.

No release date has been announced yet, but fans and Switch owners should stay tuned for more announcements from the developers.
