'Street Fighter 5' updates: Balance changes and new character release delayed, classic Thailand stage and school uniform DLCs coming next week

The classic Thailand Stage has been remastered and will be reintroduced in "Street Fighter 5" on April 25. Capcom Unity website

The planned release for a new character and season 2 balance changes for "Street Fighter 5" by the end of April have been delayed, Capcom revealed.

The game developer announced on its website that the recently concluded PC Beta Test allowed them to come up with further adjustments that could improve the new Capcom Fighters Network (CFN).

However, due to the new adjustments, the development team needs more time to check that everything works and meets their expectations before it officially comes out to the public. To do this, they are planning to hold another Beta Test for free in the coming days. The next Beta Test is expected to have all the released character available for playing during the duration of the test, including the upcoming season 2 DLC character. However, the identity of the new character remains under wraps.

This means that the upcoming season 2 balance changes and the new character reveal will not happen by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, the game developer also announced that the next DLC for "Street Fighter 5" that will be released next week will include the remastered classic Thailand stage that was first introduced in "Street Fighter 2."

According to Capcom's recent blog post, "The stage's intricate bell and statues have been carefully recreated in SFV with great detail, as well as the stage's memorable theme."

The latest installment of the best-selling video game will also come with three premium school costumes for Ryu, Juri, and Chun-Li. The press release revealed that Ryu's costume was inspired by the typical Japanese student gang leader known as Bancho. On the other hand, Juri will have a Gothic-inspired schoolgirl costume complete with black lipstick and black nail polish. Meanwhile, Chun-Li's school uniform will give her the distinction of an Honor Roll student.

The Thailand Stage DLC for "Street Fighter 5" can be purchased for $3.99 or buy it using the 70,000 Fight Money starting on Tuesday, April 25. Each costume can be purchased for $3.99 each on the same day.
