Things are about to get more interesting in "Stranger Things," as the characters for season 3 have been revealed and include some new faces along with the old cast.

That Hashtag Show has revealed insider cast details for the upcoming third season of the hit science-fiction (sci-fi) thriller in which three new characters have been added. This time around, fans will get to see the Hawkins' town mayor, a news reported, and an old lady run around the small but momentous town of Hawkins, Indiana. By comparison, these new characters seem to be less involved than the new ones introduced in the second season, though it's still too early to tell right now.

The first character, Mayor Larry Kline appears to be the run-of-the-mill politician stereotype of the '80s and is somewhere between the ages of 40s to 60s. Since he is a politician in the show, he is best described as self-serving and pathetic and based on those alone, he could well be a new antagonist in the show, similar to how Eleven's (Millie Bobbie Brown) "Papa" was in the first season. This could be problematic for Police Chief Hopper (David Harbour) and the gang as they have never faced authority as human before.

The second character seems to be no different than the first as moral compasses go, as he is a corrupt news reporter named Bruce. Similar to the mayor in terms of age, Bruce is an overweight sexist according to the show's description. It also appears that Bruce will also be a minor antagonist of some sorts and will perhaps be working with the Mayor in order to make Hopper and the kids' life difficult.

The last character is a breath of fresh air compared to the first two since she will be an old woman in her '70s named Patricia Brown who has befriended the kids and apparently has information regarding the Upside Down, or the different dimension from where the Demogorgons and other alien creatures originated. She also seems to be similar to Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), meaning something might have happened to her involving the Upside Down.

It should be noted that the source of the information is hit or miss at best, meaning fans should take this with a grain of salt and wait for Netflix to release official character profile trailers for "Stranger Things" season 3.
