Selena Gomez's music career is on a high as the 23-year-old's latest album, "Revival," reached the top of the Billboard charts last October. Recently, the former Disney star also collaborated with Charlie Puth for the song "We Don't Talk Anymore," and while the song was well-received, her fans are hoping that she can make new music with her friend, Taylor Swift.

Gomez recently spoke with E! News on the red carpet of the Sundance Film Festival while promoting her film, "The Fundamentals of Caregiving." The star was asked if there is a chance that she and the 26-year-old will work on a song together, and Gomez replied, "Oh, I don't know. I mean, eventually, right?"

"She's my best friend. We'll see," said the singer-actress.

While the two have yet to record a song together, they teamed up to perform Gomez's "Good For You" on Swift's "1989" world tour last year. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star was also featured in Swift's music video for "Bad Blood," along with their other good friends, including Gigi Hadid, Lena Dunham, Mariska Hargitay, Ellen Pompeo, Zendaya, and Ellie Goulding.

Last year, the "Shake It Off" singer and Gomez also attended the MTV Video Music Awards with their friends, now known as the Girl Squad. In a previous interview with Billboard, Gomez talked about attending the award show with her good friends, saying that Swift made her feel "empowered" and more confident about trusting new people.

"All of those girls are so dope. We ran around taking pictures, changing dresses, dancing—super-cliche girly stuff, but it rocked," said Gomez. "The way she cares about women is so adamant. It's pulling me out of my shell."

When not performing or attending award shows, the two also like to take vacations together. Last month, Gomez and Swift took hilarious photos of them peeking out of a leafy tree, and Swift took to Instagram to post the picture and captioned it, "Are we out of the woods yet?" The photo got more than 2 million likes on the photo sharing site.
