Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber news: Pop stars back together but only as friends

It takes an operation to mend broken relationships. Multiple reports have surfaced that pop superstars Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are talking and working through their differences three years after a rollercoaster relationship and nasty breakup.

The 25-year-old Gomez, who had a kidney transplant this year due to complications from lupus, has been reportedly trying to make it up to Bieber, 23. Sources said that Bieber has been treating Gomez well since her surgery and the two are on good terms. Additionally, the two had just gotten back in touch recently through some common friends and they have been seen each other at church.

"Justin and Selena recently started speaking. I don't know when exactly but it's because of the same church they go to," a source told Us Weekly.

The source added that the said church is a tight-knit community and the two singers have common friends who made the reconnection possible. The ex-lovers reportedly talked and realized that it was about time to grow up and let go of their bitter history.

The "Baby" singer has also been spotted in the "Kill 'Em With Kindness" singer's home in Studio City in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, Bieber was seen pulling up to the property aboard his white G-Wagon last Sunday, Oct. 22 and hung out with their common friends until midnight.

However, there will be no rekindling of the two singers' romantic past as Gomez is still the lady love of R&B singer The Weeknd. The two lovebirds have been dating since January.

"He has been on tour and she's been traveling back and forth to L.A., but they are 100 percent still on," one source revealed.

Another source meanwhile said that Gomez and The Weeknd are still very much on, adding, "The Weeknd is well aware Selena and Justin are talking."

Bieber and Gomez were an item from 2011 to 2014. Even after their separation, Bieber has only spoken highly of his ex-girlfriend.
