After MTV confirmed several details of "Scream" season 3, the descriptions of the five new characters to be featured in the horror TV series have been revealed.

TVLine first released the character descriptions of "Scream" season 3. These include the character named Dion, a football player who resembles the "Friday Night Lights" alum Michael B. Jordan. The description reveals that Dion is on his way to get a college scholarship, until the masked killer takes advantage of his deepest and darkest secrets to turn his life around.

Another new character will be named Liv, who is described as Dion's beautiful and smart cheerleader girlfriend. She also possesses a generous and charitable nature that has a tendency to bring her closer to danger.

Then there is the rebellious and outspoken one named Kym. She will reportedly use her prepared and protective persona to help her deal with the killer.

Another new character for "Scream" season 3 will be called Beth, a goth-looking senior. She will be known for her collection of morbid items, as well as her vast knowledge of anything scary. The character can be compared to Fairuza Balk of "The Craft."

Finally, there will be Jamal. He is described as Dion's stepbrother who possesses a big heart. He will also be very loyal to Dion in the upcoming season.

Aside from the new characters and storyline, MTV also announced the names of the new people behind the show. These include a new showrunner, which will be assumed by "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Brett Matthews.

The teen horror TV series will also be handled by new executive producers under the Flavor Unit Entertainment, including Yaneley Arty, Shakim Compere, and singer-actress Queen Latifah.

MTV first announced the renewal of "Scream" for its third season in October 2016, just days before the network aired the two-hour Halloween special that tied up the story of the show's first two seasons. However, the network shortened the third season's length to just six episodes.
