In the next episode of "Scorpion," a gang of thieves attempt to pull off a virtual heist with the team caught in the middle.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Sci Hard" was just released recently and showed a masked perpetrator with a gun standing behind Walter O'Brien (Elyes Gabel) whom he has taken hostage. O'Brien is seemingly tasked by the hostage takers to hack other bank accounts and steal their money. "These bank accounts are being emptied," an executive tells the remaining Scorpion team. The team apparently was at a convention but O'Brien got kidnapped to do the hostage takers' dirty work. Now, Sylvester Dodd (Ari Stidham), Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee), Toby Curtis (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Happy Quinn (Jadyn Wong) have to race against the clock to save their boss and undo the virtual heist.

Curtis comes up with a plan to thwart the virtual robbery by stealing the money first. This will irk the perpetrators and might put O'Brien more at risk. However, it is expected that the Scorpion team will have a back-up plan in place just in case everything goes awry. "Oh, this is a wrinkle," O'Brien mutters to himself with concern. It remains to be seen how O'Brien will be saved and how the criminals will be captured.

In the last episode, O'Brien and the team stopped a nuclear warhead from detonating by launching it from the silo. However, the missile took off too soon with the nuclear device still active. They only had 20 minutes left to look for the device in the perimeter and disarm the bomb.

They eventually were able to disarm it with Quinn's engineering expertise with only a seconds remaining. The military backup unit arrived and the cleanup was turned over to them.

"Scorpion" season 4 episode 5 will air on Monday, Oct. 23 at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
