Samsung just announced the 2016 version of its Galaxy C7 last May, but reports indicate that the South Korean company is gearing up to unveil a bigger and upgraded version of the device called the Galaxy C7 Pro. Recently, the handset was spotted at Geekbench, and the benchmark test revealed a few details about the upcoming smartphone.

According to Phone Arena, the benchmark indicates that the Galaxy C7 Pro will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset and an octa-core central processing unit (CPU). The phone will reportedly have 4 GB of random access memory (RAM) and will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The phablet was spotted last month on India's Zauba import-export site, which revealed that the C7 Pro will have a 5.7-inch screen and may come in 32 GB and 64 GB internal memory variants. It was also said that the handset will have a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

It is expected that the C7 Pro will have considerable upgrades over the Galaxy C7, which also has a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. But based on the leaks, it appears that not much has changed, as the current device also has a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It also has 4 GB of RAM, comes in 32 GB and 64 GB memory options, and is available in three color models: Gold, Pink, and Dark Gray. The C7 has a touch sensor to support Fingerprint Unlock, and it's likely that this feature will also be found on the Galaxy C7 Pro.

Zauba indicates that the C7 Pro will be priced at Rs. 13,645, or just a little over $200. But it's likely that this won't be the actual retail price, as the Galaxy C7 starts at about $400. It is expected that the C7 Pro will be priced slightly higher than the current device upon its release.

The Galaxy C7 Pro is rumored to be released in December. Stay tuned for more news about Samsung's upcoming handset.
